Job description

1. Design and Implement the Treasury Strategy Aligned with Bank’s Strategy

•    Participate in Bank’s development of overall strategy and contributes funding advice to guide decisions with regards to strategic initiatives and potential funding.
•    Analyze the company strategy and roadmap to determine the future trends, strategic direction and legal implications to determine the funding strategy and borrowing plan for the year. 
•    Maintain a focus of both interest and non-interest income performance of the function through monitoring and management of actual results against budget.
•    Develop policies, processes and limits for the treasury function and creates criteria for treasury approaches.    
       

2. Minimize Global Markets Risks (Sustainability)  

 •    Assess, monitor, evaluate all Treasury risks, creates a detailed risk management framework, monitors application, and investigates and reports on exceptions.
•    Monitor corrections or amendment as per Internal Audit Report, report to the Liquidity Committee and Asset Liability Committee on Treasury risk-related matters. 
•    Ensure adherence to all Regulatory requirements and that Bank is adequately funded in terms of policy provisions (Funding Plan; Risk Management Policy; CFP Policy and ALCO proposals)
•    Minimize risks in accordance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements. 
•    Oversee and manage all aspects of debt management (debt funds, bonds in issue, currency, basis and interest rate risks, terms, etc.) and develop and manage relevant strategy.

3. Manage Client and Stakeholders Relationships and Collaboration        
•    Build relationships within and outside the Bank in relating to funding and liquidity matters, to develop a credible and relevant network.
•    Act as internal advisor to all Business Units and the leadership team in making risk adjusted business investments and strategic decisions.
•    Source investors in the market for funding purposes, e.g. JP Morgan; Outside Banks; Development Financial Institutions.
•    Collaborate extensive with the Group on, for example, offshore solutions or as dictated by the initiative or with Sales by providing input and speaking to new clients and businesses.
•    Provide market risk report Managing Director and collaborate and share knowledge on a continuous basis

4.Trading      
•    Directly responsible for primary and secondary trading as per laid down policy and best practice.
•    Develop and encourage inter-bank and secondary trading.
•    Advise hedging solutions to clients.    

Minimum requirements

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related fields 
  • Master’s degree in Economics/Business Administration/Finance will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in banking which 3 years should have been at executive level or senior management
  • Market Analysis, Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance Skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing market strategies
  • Leadership and Team Management Skills
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving abilities
