Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

Agile Coaching and Team Dynamics

·         Foster a high-performing team environment by coaching team members in self-management, continuous improvement, and conflict resolution to enhance collaboration and productivity.

·         Exhibit Lean-Agile leadership by helping the team adopt and apply SAFe Core Values, Principles, and practices, promoting a Lean-Agile mindset.

·         Reinforce team rules for Scrum, Kanban, Built-In Quality practices (e.g., TDD/BDD), and Work in Process (WIP) limits.

·         Facilitate the team's progress toward achieving daily and Iteration Goals in the context of current Program Increment (PI) Objectives.

·         Mentor/coach the team on problem-solving techniques to become better problem-solvers for themselves.

Efficient Execution and Flow Facilitation

·         Facilitate all team ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective), ensuring time-boxing and effective participation to achieve clear outcomes.

·         Proactively remove and escalate impediments that are beyond the team’s authority, ensuring the team remains focused on Iteration objectives.

·         Support the Product Owner in backlog refinement, managing scope, and fostering a healthy team dynamic regarding priorities.

·         Facilitate inter-team coordination and communication, acting as the team representative in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS) and coordinating with the System Team, User Experience, Architecture, and Shared Services.

·         Help the team with estimating Features and Capabilities and establishing normalized estimates.

·         Facilitate preparation and readiness for all Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, System Demos, and the Inspect and Adapt.

Reporting, Governance, and Risk Management

·         Build, track, report, and supervise key Agile team metrics (e.g., Velocity, Cycle Time, Burndown, Quality/Defect Rate) to drive transparency and continuous improvement.

·         Actively lead and complete overall Epic delivery plans, including schedule, milestones, and critical path, in collaboration with the Product Owner and Platform Owner.

·         Identify, document, and manage Agile Team issues and risks; mitigate, resolve, or escalate appropriately for management support.

·         Ensure compliance by aligning risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities, which is crucial in the regulated banking environment.

·         Protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work (scope creep) and communicate with management and outside stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Core Competencies

·         Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and propose innovative solutions.

·         Deep understanding of iterative and incremental development.

·         Ability to foster a culture of technical discipline and craftsmanship, promoting SAFe quality practices and meeting the Definition of Done (DoD).

·         Strong focus on relying on the team/individuals to come up with solutions instead of dictating them (Servant Leadership).

·         Excellent communication and active listening skills for managing stakeholder expectations and team dynamics.

·         Ability to encourage learning and growth within the team.
