Introduction
The Group Strategy Insights & Performance Lead is responsible for building and operating the Group’s strategy insights, performance management, and reporting capability. The role collects, integrates, validates, and analyses data from internal and external sources; produces decision-grade insights; and delivers executive-ready reporting and dashboards that improve strategic decision-making, strategic alignment, and performance management. The role also supports continuous strategy-related feedback, communication, and improvement through structured reporting cadences, stakeholder engagement, and capability-building.
Job description

Strategy-related Data Collection, Management, and Analysis                                   

  • Identify and integrate data from various internal and external sources to ensure comprehensive data coverage.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of collected data through stringent data quality assurance practices.
  • Perform descriptive analysis to summarize historical data and identify patterns or trends.
  • Utilize predictive analysis techniques, including statistical models and machine learning, to forecast future trends and outcomes.
  • Develop prescriptive analysis recommendations based on data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to present data insights in an accessible and understandable format, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

Reporting and Communication    

  • Implement standardized reporting frameworks and templates to ensure consistency in reporting across the organization.
  • Generate regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs), providing stakeholders with up-to-date performance data.
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed to address specific questions or issues, ensuring that stakeholders have the information they need when they need it.
  • Implement systems for automated data reporting to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports.
  • Identify key stakeholders and their information needs, tailoring communication to ensure relevance and clarity.
  • Implement a comprehensive communication plan outlining key messages, channels, and frequency of communication.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms for stakeholders to provide input on reports and insights, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Design and maintain low-code workflow tools (e.g., Power Apps) and simple automations that streamline KPI/OKR updates, data capture, approvals, issue logging, and follow-up tracking—improving timeliness, accuracy, and auditability.

Market Research and Environmental Scanning                                                                          

Insights Dissemination and Knowledge Sharing         

  • Share insights and reports with internal stakeholders through meetings, emails, and intranet portals to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Communicate relevant insights and reports to external stakeholders, such as investors and regulatory bodies, to maintain transparency and compliance.
  •  Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by regularly disseminating insights and best practices within the organization, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.

Performance Monitoring and Evaluation                                                                                     

  • Track the impact of insights and reports on decision-making and business performance, ensuring that the organization remains on track to meet its strategic goals.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and OKRs to evaluate the effectiveness of insights, reporting, and communication activities.
  • Generate regular performance reports to keep stakeholders informed about progress toward strategic goals.
  • Conduct regular reviews and adjustments to strategies and processes based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance data analysis, reporting, and communication practices.
 

 

                              

Minimum requirements

Qualification Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree:

Knowledge

  • Techniques for conducting market research and competitive analysis.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Experience in conducting environmental scanning and SWOT/PESTLE analysis
  • Working knowledge of financial services products and services
  • Strong finance/accounting literacy: interpreting financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and relating performance drivers to financial outcomes.
  • Management reporting capability: performance packs, variance analysis, profitability and cost drivers, KPI trees/value-driver models.
  • Advanced Excel and SQL for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and quality assurance.
  • Power BI (or equivalent): data modelling, measures (e.g., DAX), dashboard publishing, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Experience implementing automated reporting with data validation, auditability, and controlled metric definitions.
  • Skills in developing and executing communication strategies.
  • Experience building low-code/no-code tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps and related workflow automation) to support strategy execution workflows and reporting processes.

Relevant Experience

  • 5 years formal work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering BI and performane reporting using SQL Power BI datamodelling, measures) 
  • Demonstrated experience producing performance reporting that links operational metrics to financial outcomes (e.g., profitability drivers, segment performance, cost drivers, value-driver models).    
  • 3 years in a relevant business environment in a data analysis, business intelligence, performance reporting, or similar role.
