Introduction
The Website Manager is responsible for managing and developing content, solutions and tools for the Bank Windhoek and Capricorn Private Wealth websites and intranet sites. The position identifies customer needs, aligns them with the Bank’s business objectives and communicates effectively to generate leads on the websites. The role is also responsible for supporting the strategic direction, continuous improvement and performance of the websites in line with business, marketing and organisational objectives. This specialised position requires strong planning and problem-solving skills, strategic acumen, stakeholder management, an understanding of online platform development, and the ability to develop clear and compelling communication. This position is based in the Marketing and Communication Department. However, it works closely with all client-facing departments and platform owners in the Capricorn Group IT Department to produce secure, competitive and appealing online communication platforms.
Job description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

1. Content Development

  • Continuously engage with stakeholders to develop and implement website content that is Search Engine Optimised and generates desired analytics to keep the brands relevant.
  • Provide content in various forms such as written content, blogs, website copy, campaign landing pages, product content, media releases, intranet updates and briefing requirements for multimedia content.
  • Continuously engage with respective stakeholders to improve and update content on the intranet platform.
  • Engage with Group IT to troubleshoot any technical challenges when the need arises.
  • Work with Group Brand, Corporate Affairs, Marketing and relevant suppliers to increase the reach of websites, optimise SEO and build repeat usage of the Bank Windhoek and Capricorn Private Wealth websites.
  • Develop and implement communication roll-out plans to encourage staff and clients to use company-owned online solutions.
  • Ensure website content is clear, accurate, customer-focused, compliant and aligned to the Bank Windhoek and Capricorn Private Wealth brands.
  • Review website content regularly to identify outdated information, broken links, poor user journeys and content gaps.

2. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establish, build, manage and retain relationships with critical internal stakeholders and other relevant business units.
  • Establish and manage relationships with external stakeholders, suppliers and digital service providers.
  • Develop a close partnership with Group IT to ensure that website and subsite development aligns with content development, business needs and customer experience objectives.
  • Take the lead on Google Analytics, Semrush, Hootsuite, Microsoft Clarity, QR code generating tools, suppliers and other digital monitoring or measurement tools.
  • Ensure that digital metrics are implemented, consistently reported and widely used to guide website, content and campaign decisions.
  • Manage relationships with the Customer Contact Centre, i-Lounge, CIB Contact Centre and Capricorn Private Wealth Service Centre.
  • Work with lead management and service teams to address any platform or procedural challenges that may affect website enquiries, customer experience or lead generation.
  • Manage the relationship between Marketing and Corporate Communication Services and Group IT as a critical stakeholder to ensure alignment and budget allocation for website development requirements.
  • Manage relationships between Marketing and Corporate Communication Services and respective business units for the improvement of the websites, intranet content and online solutions.

3. Website Updates and Uploads

  • Upload media releases, news articles, notices and other approved website content.
  • Upload carousel images, campaign assets, banners and digital material to support marketing and business campaigns.
  • Upload information that is crucial for immediate consumer consumption such as fees and charges information, treasury updates, product updates and important customer notices.
  • Upload and update intranet content in line with internal communication and business requirements.
  • Brief Group IT on development requirements and ensure they deliver on business needs through their suppliers.
  • Support the development and improvement of website pages, campaign landing pages, lead generation forms, calculators, content hubs and other online tools.
  • Ensure website updates are implemented accurately, timeously and in line with brand, compliance and governance requirements.

4. Website Strategy and Digital Experience

  • Develop and support the implementation of the strategic direction of the Bank Windhoek and Capricorn Private Wealth websites in line with business, marketing and organisational objectives.
  • Translate business strategy into tangible website pillars, content priorities, platform improvements and measurable digital outcomes.
  • Support the development of website roadmaps that improve customer experience, content relevance, lead generation, accessibility, usability, SEO performance and digital adoption.
  • Use website analytics, digital insights, customer behaviour, stakeholder feedback and market trends to recommend improvements to website content, structure, functionality and user experience.
  • Identify opportunities where the websites can support business growth, strengthen product positioning and improve customer journeys.
  • Ensure that website content and online solutions remain aligned to business priorities, customer value propositions, campaign objectives and the Bank’s digital ambitions.
  • Support the translation of marketing campaigns onto digital platforms, with specific focus on website content, campaign landing pages and lead generation journeys.
  • Provide strategic input into website-related projects, business initiatives and digital customer experience improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by recommending new tools, features, content structures and user experience enhancements.

5. Expertise

  • The person should have sufficient knowledge and understanding of media studies, web development, informatics, user experience design, Search Engine Optimisation, public relations, digital communication, content strategy and website management.
  • The person should have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the banking and financial services environment.

Minimum requirements

1. Experience, Knowledge and Skills Qualification

  • Degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Communication Technology, Informatics, Digital Media, Public Relations or a related field.
  • User Experience Design Certificate will be an advantage.
  • Project Management and Web Development experience are an advantage.
  • Marketing experience will be an advantage.
  • Experience with different content management systems will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Search Engine Optimisation, website analytics, digital content development and digital campaign support will be an advantage.
  • Experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Hootsuite, QR code tools or similar digital monitoring platforms will be an advantage.
  • Experience in financial services, banking or another regulated environment will be an advantage.
