Key Responsibilities
Monitoring Transactions
- Analyze financial transactions to identify suspicious activities and patterns that may indicate money laundering or fraud
- Utilize specialized software to monitor and flag unusual transactions

Conducting Investigations
- Investigate flagged transactions by reviewing documentation, interviewing relevant parties, and consulting with law enforcement agencies
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations for further action

Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with AML regulations set by government agencies/regulators alike
- Assist with regulatory audits and reviews to ensure the bank's adherence to AML policies

Customer Due Diligence
- Conduct due diligence on new and existing customers to verify their identity and assess potential risks
- Review and validate customer documents for compliance with AML regulations

Collaboration and Training
- Work closely with other departments such as compliance, legal, and risk management to coordinate AML efforts
- Provide training to employees on AML procedures and best practices

Minimum requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field is typically required.
- Education: COP added advantage
- Experience: Previous experience in AML, compliance, or a related field is often preferred.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) can be advantageous.
- Experience: atleast 2 years banking/ KYC experience
